These are some of the frequently asked questions that we get.
1 What happens on a ghost watch?
First you start off with a talk about the paranormal with questions and answers, an explanation of experiments and equipment that we do and use. We then go for a tour of the location with the lights on so people can see where that they are going to investigate. We then bring you back to the safe room which is a room that we have designated for keeping all of our belongings and where the lights are kept on throughout the investigation in-case anybody has to leave a particular vigil, they can retire to this room to recover. We will then turn out all of the lights and we can start our investigation. During the first vigil we will open you up and offer protection. We will then do a number of vigils with breaks in-between. At the end of the night we will close everybody down so you will not take spirit home with you.
2 Can everybody see spirit?
With a little help everybody can learn to detect spirit but only certain people can enhance their senses to clairvoyant level. Which means you can see. Some people have this naturally but there are many other ways of detecting spirit, as this is a massive field. In time if you enhance your other senses then you may start to see spirit.
3 Why wont my dead family visit me?
There could be a number of reasons for this it could be because it would be too upsetting for you or it could be that they have passed onto another realm. It could even be that they cannot even if they wanted to or it might be because that when they died they had a hard passing and they are in a kind of convalescence healing, spirit takes much longer to healing than flesh.
4 Are Ghosts tormented?
No ghosts are not tormented, Some people think that a ghost haunts a place because it is unhappy but this is not true, ghosts haunt places for different reasons the reasons why most ghosts haunt is because they are happy it maybe a place they lived in and they just do not want to leave.
5 Why do some ghost haunt?
There can be many factors why a ghost may haunt a building for instance love of where they used to live, a violent death, An unexpected death, a wrong doing or a possession. People in this life are materialistic and ghosts are the same you cannot take anything with you so some ghosts do not want to leave their most treasured possessions.
6 What is the difference between a ghost and a spirit?
A ghost is something that you will see but it has no function to notice you are there. So in other words you can see it but it cannot see you, it will not communicate. A spirit on the other hand will communicate and it can see you and you can see it. It uses knowledge and will be able to touch, hear and speak. Some spirits will be able to move things too.
7 Do you do private readings?
I usually say no to private readings because most trained mediums can use what they have learned as to cold read a person. Everyone that trains in this field learns many things from psychology to medium-ship. It is Because of this reason why I do not like to do private readings unless I am told something specific that I need to tell the person. If you are cold reading a person you are not using psychic ability at all you are using information which they have told you which includes everything that you need to know and in this way you will be able to give them very accurate information giving a false impression of ones gift.
8 Are ghosts more common at certain times of the year?
I believe that seasons bring about different circumstances and ghosts react to this, for example ghosts are attracted to positive energy and we give out more positive vibrations during the festive season and yes there are more ghost sightings around this time of year. I do not know if this is connected but it could be.
9 Does everybody have a spirit guide?
Yes everyone does have a spirit guide some people have more than one. Usually these are very spiritual people or they were when they were of this earth.
10 Are ghosts from different time aware of each other?
This is a very hard question to answer because theoretically they may have heard of another person while alive but in death I am not sure but it does come out on investigations that spirit do know of one another and these could be from different time zones.
11 Are all old buildings haunted?
No all-old buildings are not haunted even some new builds can be haunted. This may because it was what was there before the new build was built.
12 Do you ever get scared?
Sometimes I get jumpy but there is a difference of being scared and frightened. Fear breeds fear which breed’s anxiety which breeds fear. It is a vicious circle because you do not know what to expect but once you know the answers it takes all of the fear or fright away. Jumping is something that happens instantly then diminishes that is very different than being frightened or scared. We are scared of what we do not know or understand.
13 Is it dangerous?
No it is not dangerous the only danger that you have is walking around in the dark.
14 What is ghost baiting?
Ghost baiting is where you use something to entice spirit to move something or to cause a reaction. Some people do not like to ghost bait and some people use it all of the time. In a scientific world you will not get a reaction if you do not start with an action. So sometimes it is a good method of ghost hunting but on other occasions it is not.
15 Are ouija boards connected to evil?
No they are not and in history they were used as a parlour game where even children joined in. The movie industry made these boards known for how they are interpreted but on a scientific level we do know that esp. exists so could it be that if the board does spell out things could it be someone in the room that knows something about what is being asked and therefore causing the planchette to move spelling out words and messages.
16 Are spirits attracted to certain people?
For a start spirits are always attracted to the mediums within a group but they will be attracted to anyone that is susceptible This is why on investigations we open everyone up as most people do not know if they are sensitive or not. Spirits do get attracted to certain people just as we do in this life.
17 When someone is being channelled do they remember?
Not always as it depends on how deep the spirit takes you If you are a medium and you do get channelled the a medium can relax very deep and will not remember a thing then there are other times where they will remember everything.
18 Can ghosts follow you home?
Yes they can follow you home if you are not closed down properly Some spirits like to be around the living as it gives them a sense of when they were alive on earth.
19 Why are some spirits nasty?
Just as in life you get some people that are very nice and others that are not. In the spirit world you get that too.
